Mallorca (Majorca) is the biggest of the Balearic Islands. This is very important touristic destination, that offer natural and anthropological landmarks. Mallorca has incredible white sand beaches with clean, limpid water. The coast is surrounded by lush, green subtropical plant fed up by the significant rainfalls in the winter months. Mallorca has vast plains and picturesque mountains covered by beautiful forest. The coast can offer to the tourists beautiful hotels and villas.

Mallorca climate and weather. Mallorca possess mild Mediterranean climate with long, hot and dry summers and short mild winters. As all the average temperatures are 10 °C in January and 25 °C in July and August. Actually the daily temperatures in January are around 13 – 15 °C. In the sunny days can reach even 20 – 25 °C. In these days you can really forget that the month is January. The temperatures reach 14 °C in December and February. These are the coldest months in Mallorca. In fact the weather in the winter in this beautiful island is very nice. Despite the weather is not suitable for swimming in the sea you can use to the best advantage of your winter holidays. The climate conditions are perfect for long walks in the island’s forest. In the mountains sometimes can be formed snow cover because of the bigger elevation above the sea level. But generally the winter is maybe the best time of the year for long walks and excursions. You can use the cool (but not cold) weather to become well acquainted by the inland area of the island, where you can find picturesque villages that are far away of the world famous touristic roads. The winter is nice not only because of the cool and fresh weather but and the calmness that can offer you this Mediterranean paradise. In December, January and February the island is crowdless and you can enjoy to its beauty unmolested. In March the weather is warmer. The spring is coming and the temperatures often can reach 20 °C in the day, but usually are 17 °C.

The weather is too cool for beach, but perfect for walks and out door activities. The days are sunnier than in the winter. In April the weather is warm, some days are hot, the water in the sea is yet cool, but you can find already people on the beach. Usually the daily temperatures are 19 °C. But at noon can reach 25 °C. The transitional seasons as spring and autumn are short. The spring begins in March and finish in April. The first summer month is May. The average daily

temperatures are 22 °C. But easy can reach 30 °C. The weather is perfect for summer tourism. The sea water is warm enough for swimming. The beaches are not crowded yet and the natives can enjoy to the perfect conditions undisturbed. June is the driest month in Mallorca. The weather is hot, the precipitations are rare. The temperatures are between 25 and 30 °C. The weather is July and

August is hot. The temperatures are around 30 °C. In some days can reach 40 °C.The beaches are crowded and the island is full of people. This is the main tourist season in Mallorca. September is similar of June with temperatures between 25 and 30 °C. The weather can be very hot. The precipitations are more significant than in June. October is the last summer month in Mallorca. The temperatures are 23 – 25 °C. The beaches are uncrowded but the sea water is warm – around 21 °C. In November begins the autumn. This is

the rainiest month in this island.

Majorca has a deeply indented coast. There are no long and endless beaches, but small and charm bays with fine white sand that makes the water to be clean and limpid. In these small bays the water is almost ever calm. These beaches can be used more than six months. In the south part of the island is situated the biggest city – Palma de Majorca. This is the capital of the island. Its population is more than 500 000 people. This is the reason for the fool of people beaches in the southern part of the island. More crowdless beaches you can find far away of Palma, in the northern part of Majorca. In the north and north west part of the island, except the deserted beaches you can find wild and unspoiled nature. The mountains in the north are named Sierra de Tramontana. There are not many places in Europe, where sea, mountains and forest to merge into one. The northern part of Majorca with its fascination is attracted a lot of Hollywood stars. This is maybe the best place to find calmness and security far away of the modern civilization chaos. Here you can feel the atmosphere of Old Europe. The air is fresh, the song of the birds is everywhere. In the mountains you can find freshness in the subtropical summer heat. In the last years Majorca is especially attractive for Germans that wish to find better climate and Mediterranean lifestyle. They come here for work, holyday and so on. The differences between Germany and Majorca are great. The life in Germany is dynamic, while in Majorca the people have enough time to relax and enjoy the good things.

When you arrive in this Mediterranean paradise, you will see that the biggest part of the population live in big villas with swimming pools. The locals like the comfortable and luxury life. The local people usually begin the day with cup of coffee and newspaper in some of the many cafes, under the shadow of some date palm, on the wide squares that are so typical for the Spanish cities. At noon is time for light lunch – usually sea food and fresh vegetables. In the hottest part of the day everybody try to find freshness some where. The life, die away for few hours. In the late afternoon the people swarm on the streets again. This is the liveliest part of the day. The sun is setting and the heat is already gone away.
