Weather in Cyprus (in September)

September in Cyprus is a very hot and sunny month with daytime temperatures in the coastal cities of between 29 and 32°C.

The heat is more easily bearable than in July and August, but it is still too warm to walk at noon.

Night temperatures are too high and usually vary between 19 – 21°C.

Similar to July and August, September in Cyprus is a very dry month. Sometimes during the period there is not even a single rainy day.

Light summer clothes are perfectly adequate for the season.

However, you may need a light anorak at night if you are planning to spend some time in the mountains, especially over 1,000 meters above sea level.

Similar to the coastal area, inside the island September is very hot and dry month.

The average daytime temperature in the capital Nicosia is usually about 34°C, sometimes higher.

Nights are very warm with temperatures around 19°C.

September brings wonderful weather in the mountains of Cyprus.

The average daytime temperature is about 24 – 25°C, and this is an ideal place to escape the heat that still torment the coastal areas of the island and other places situated at a lower altitude as a whole.

At a height of between 1000 and 1500 meters nights are pleasantly cool, and temperatures reach about 14 – 15°C at its lowest point before dawn.

The seawater along the coast of Cyprus in September is extremely warm.

The temperature is about 27°C, and the beaches in the resort cities along the coast are crowded with visitors.

The high sea water temperature in combination with the relatively more pleasant weather in comparison with July and August make September more recommended and preferred among tourists.
