January 25, 2026 – Several countries, including Australia, UK, Canada and US have updated their travel advisories in recent days, urging citizens to avoid or reconsider travel to Israel due to the deteriorating security situation in the region.

Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has raised its travel warning, citing ongoing armed conflict, the risk of missile attacks, civil unrest, and the potential for sudden border closures or flight disruptions.

The advisory warns that the security situation can change rapidly and that travelers may face difficulties leaving the country at short notice.

Other governments have issued similar guidance. The United Kingdom’s Foreign Office (FCDO) continues to advise against all travel to parts of Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, while urging extreme caution elsewhere in the country. Canada, US, and several EU member states have also updated their advisories, highlighting the risk of rocket fire, terrorist attacks, and regional escalation involving neighboring countries.

Authorities stress that even areas normally considered safe can be affected by sudden security incidents, airspace restrictions, or disruptions to public transport and airport operations. Travelers are also warned that consular assistance may be limited during periods of intense conflict.

Airlines have already adjusted schedules, with some carriers reducing flights or suspending services temporarily, adding further uncertainty for travelers planning trips to the region.

Travel experts advise tourists to closely monitor official government guidance, avoid non-essential travel, and ensure flexible booking arrangements if travel is unavoidable.

Many governments are also encouraging citizens currently in Israel to register with their embassies and review personal security plans.
